Penygawsi Primary School: A New Era of Accessibility
At Penygawsi Primary School, located in Llantrisant, we played an integral role in ensuring the new building met the highest standards of accessibility. Working closely with Morgan Sindall, our team installed two state-of-the-art hygiene rooms equipped with the following:
2x Astor OT200 Ceiling Hoist: This advanced hoist system provides effortless and safe transfers for students with mobility challenges, ensuring they can move with dignity and ease.
2x Shower Trolleys: These add a layer of comfort and safety for both students and caregivers, offering an accessible way to manage hygiene needs in a school environment.
This project is part of the wider commitment to building inclusive and modern facilities that cater to the needs of all students. With these new installations, Penygawsi Primary School is fully equipped to provide care and support for students with additional needs, fostering an inclusive learning environment.
Llanilltud Primary School: A Welcoming Space for All
Our second collaboration with Morgan Sindall Construction took place at Llanilltud Primary School in Church Village. Here, we installed a single hygiene room featuring:
Astor OT200 Ceiling Hoist: This advanced hoist system provides effortless and safe transfers for students with mobility challenges, ensuring they can move with dignity and ease.
Shower Trolley: These add a layer of comfort and safety for both students and caregivers, offering an accessible way to manage hygiene needs in a school environment.
This installation forms part of Llanilltud’s commitment to ensuring all pupils, regardless of their physical abilities, have access to the same high-quality education and facilities. The hygiene room is designed to be a safe and comfortable space that supports students with disabilities, empowering them to focus on learning and participation in school activities.

Legislation: BB103 & BB104
In both the Penygawsi and Llanilltud Primary School projects, compliance with BB103 and BB104 building regulations was essential to the successful installation of our hygiene rooms. These government guidelines outline the standards for space, accessibility, and equipment in educational buildings, ensuring that facilities meet the needs of all students, particularly those with disabilities.
By adhering to BB103 (Area Guidelines for Mainstream Schools) and BB104 (Area Guidelines for Special Schools), we were able to design and install hygiene rooms that not only meet regulatory requirements but also provide safe, practical, and dignified solutions for students and staff. These guidelines ensured our installations were optimised for functionality, contributing to the overall inclusivity of the school environments.
