A brand-new Changing Places toilet has been installed in Montpellier Gardens, right in the heart of Cheltenham. This popular green space, known for its tree-lined paths, floral displays and nearby cafés, is now more accessible to people with complex disabilities and their carers.
We’re especially proud to have been part of this project—not only because it’s improving access in a busy, well-loved part of town, but because Cheltenham is where we’re based. All the specialist equipment inside the Changing Places facility was designed and made locally by the team at Astor Bannerman.
What's Inside the Facility?
This new Changing Places toilet is fully compliant and includes:
- Astor OT200 Ceiling Track Hoist – Providing smooth and effortless transfers, this hoist ensures safe movement between the toilet, changing table, and wheelchair.
- Astor Invincible Changing Table – A robust, height-adjustable adult-sized changing bench designed for comfort and safety.
- Astor ABW-CP Height Adjustable Wash Basin – Allowing users to adjust the basin height for easier accessibility.
- KwickScreen Privacy Screen – Offering a discreet and dignified space for changing.
- Peninsular Toilet and Support Rails – Enhancing safety and ease of use for individuals and their carers.
The finish inside the room reflects the wider look of Montpellier Gardens—clean, modern and with that classic Cheltenham feel. The whole toilet block has been upgraded too, with attention to detail throughout.
