Hawth Theatre in Crawley has installed a Changing Places Toilet in partnership with Parkwood Leisure and Crawley Borough Council, boosting accessibility for the venue which hosts over 350 performances and events a year, and attracts 150,000 customers to the venue.

This essential space has been created with grant funding provided by the Department of Levelling Up, Housing and Communities. Crawley Borough Council was awarded a grant of £97,000 to install Changing Places toilets at the theatre and at K2 Leisure Centre.
Astor Bannerman installed the new Changing Places Toilet.
The equipment in the Changing Places toilet includes:
– ABW-CP Height Adjustable Wash Basin
– Peninsular Toilet
– Shower
Councillor Chris Mullins, Cabinet member for Leisure and Wellbeing at Crawley Borough Council said
“I’m delighted to see that the Changing Places toilet at The Hawth is now open. These accessible and inclusive facilities are vital for residents and visitors and I hope they will make a trip to the theatre that little bit easier.”

“K2 Crawley and The Hawth are extremely popular leisure and cultural venues, with more than a million people visiting them every year. These new fully accessible and inclusive facilities will be hugely beneficial to residents and visitors.”

We are delighted to be able to support the installation at The Hawth which will be of great benefit not only to many of our members, but for the wider community as well to ensure that the theatre is truly accessible for all.”
