Accessible Bathroom Background
Project Goals and Requirements
Project Process and Approach
The project was managed by David Harrison, Business Development Manager. Following an initial assessment, we demonstrated possible suitable baths at the client’s home. Key features of the Astor Rio Fusion, such as the bath’s integrated guards and a digital removeable control (which was to be mounted safely away from the bath) were carefully explained and customised to the client’s needs. Due to space constraints, enabling works were necessary to increase the bath area by removing tiles and fitting Whiterok.
CAD plans were created and shared with the clients, to ensure that they were happy with the design.
Installation for the accessible bathroom took place in the final week of August, aligned with a bank holiday. The enabling works were completed over three days to minimise disruption. Our team attended on Tuesday at midday to begin the final installation, which was completed smoothly by 6 pm.

Outcome and Client Feedback
The new accessible bathroom setup meets all objectives, delivering on safety, accessibility, and comfort for the client and carers. The client’s family expressed satisfaction, noting the positive impact on daily routines. Although we haven’t yet observed the client’s progress first-hand, we have been told that their core strength is gradually improving, an encouraging outcome facilitated by the enhanced setup.
This project underscores Astor Bannerman’s commitment to personalised care solutions that adapt seamlessly to our clients’ unique requirements, supporting greater comfort, independence, and quality of life.
