Whilst at the Kidz up North event organised by Disabled Living in Manchester late last November, we had a chance to spend some time with friends old and new.

As sponsor of The Joshua Wilson Brain Tumour Charity, we caught up with mum and founder and spoke about the incredible work they do to support families of children with brain tumours and post-surgery disabilities like ‘Super Josh’.

Although Dawn told our Marketing Manager Wendy that she was missing her wingman Josh, who sadly passed away in early November 2014, she showed strength and commitment to the families who need her and shared her experiences whilst promoting the good work of the charity to make sure Josh lives on in the hearts of those who knew him.

Astor-Bannerman continue to support The Joshua Wilson Brain Tumour Charity and provide specialist disability equipment advice to friends of the charity and those who need it. We were also pleased to have installed our A2B 2 Function Ceiling Hoist and Rio adjustable height bath (as seen on TV!) to reduce back strain into Dawns home to make life a little easier for Josh and Dawn.

Here’s what Dawn said –

“We chose Astor-Bannerman to supply a ceiling track hoist in the lounge for Josh based on their reputation for high quality and service.

They didn’t disappoint.  From start to finish we had a fantastic and importantly a personal level of Service.

David designed the hoist to meet Josh’s needs along with the layout of our room, spending time to ensure it was exactly what was required.

The installation was on time, the team were lovely and as expected no mess was left.

Having a ceiling track hoist in the lounge now gives Josh more freedom, he loves just chilling on the floor watching TV, he couldn’t before as we couldn’t lift him up again, but now he can :-)

Thank you Astor-Bannerman!”

We’re really excited to be welcoming Dawn and The Joshua Wilson Brain Tumour Charity to the Changing Places Conference on 21st February 2015 to share her knowledge of how she uses social media to get her message out there.
